What to Do?

Things to Do Instead of Eating

Feel free to comment with some things you do when you feel like eating but aren't hungry.

Cause of Eating: Boredom
  • Exercise
  • Watch TV or a movie
  • Read
  • Call a friend
  • Do some work
  • Check in with the WW boards
  • Write
  • Play with cats
  • Play a game
Cause of Eating: Stress Relief
  • Exercise
  • Sleep
  • Cry
  • Write/journal
  • Talk to boyfriend
  • Take a bubble bath
  • Get a massage
  • Get nails done 
  • Breathing exercises
Cause of Eating: Instant Gratification
  • Find a distraction
  • Work desired food into a future food plan
  • Purchase one and only one portion of food, eat it slowly, and savor 
Cause of Eating: Emotions - Depression, Emptiness, Need for Control, Attempt to Tranquilize
  • Try to identify emotion or feeling
  • Stay away from food
  • Write/Journal
  • Talk it out
  • Get distracted and stuff emotions deep down inside This is a tough one.  I'll have to think about what else I can do.
